ALLEGED MURDER.
CHARGE AGAINST BARNES.
ANOTHER ADJOURNMENT.
(By TelegraDb.—Press Association.),
WELLINGTON, Wedneeday.
The rase in which Joseph Barnes, 31 years of age, is called to answer a charpc of the murder of Walter John Whall, was again before the Court today. The police asked for a further remand, stating that they would not be able to go on with the caee until the Government bacteriologist's report came to hand.
Mr. Stevenson, who ia appearing foi the defence, said the application was rather indefinite. In the Cooper case it took two months to obtain the report. The police should not wait until a considerable time elapsed before going on with the case. The only light the bacteriologist's evidence could throwwas whether certain bloodstains were human blood or other blood.
Chief Detective Kemp eaid he hoped the report -would lie ready in a fortnipht.
The magistrate adjourned the case for a week.
