ALLEGED ILLEGAL OPERATION.
PATIENT IN HOSPITAL. DEPOSITIONS TAKEX. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Tuesday. A party consisting of Mr. E. Page, S.M., Chief Detective Kemp, and the Court clerk, visited Wellington Hospital to-day and took depositions in the case in which Julia Ruddlesden is charged ■with having unlawfully used an instrument on a single woman, named fcucy Josephine Pope, and a young man named Jtory Pinny, is charged with having procured Julia Kuddlesden to commit a crime. In the evidence, Lucy Pope said that the accused, Pinny, was responsible for her condition. Pinny made arrangements and witness visited Ruddlesden, who performed an operation. She later became 111, and, on the advice of Pinny, admitted everything to Dr. Luke, who ordered her removal-to the hospital. After witness had completed her evidence, the further hearing ot the case ■was adjourned. / i
