MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE.
SATURDAY'S ARRANGEMENTS
The weekly meeting of the management committee of the Auckland Football Association was held last evening, Mr. A. Menzies presiding.
The various subcommittees reported that all arrangements were well in hand for Saturday Prior to the big game, which
commences nt 3 p.m. prompt, two curtainraisers will be played. Belmont A and Ponsonby A fifth grade teams will meet at 12.30. while the Fleet reserves will oppose a junior rep. team at 1.30 p.m. Messrs. R. Banister and R. Tilson were appointed managers vt th? Auckland and Navy teams. A dinner to which thr four teams and officials will be invited will be held after the game, and the remainder of the evening spent at a place of entertainment.
To cope with the large crowd wblch is certain to attend the Domain on Saturday, a few more club officials are required to assist the management committee. They should report to Mr. 11. Gribblc at 12 noon.
The chairman addressed the meeting regarding an advertisement published and a letter circulated by one of the senior clubs inviting the remainder to meet and discuss the question or insurance of flayers und ground fees. Mr. Men/.ies took .strong exception to this step, and pointed out that the action of the club was practically an indication of no-confidence in his committee, which had the sole right to move in any matter that involved the management of the Association game in Auckland. | Considerable discussion followed, and it . appeared to be the general feeling that the \ club In question did not intend any breach of etiquette or discipline, but had the good ! of the game in mind and had acted tbousht- j k-ssly. It was nevertheless decided unani- | mously to instruct offlciuls of the club con- i ccmed to attend next week's meeting of the association and explain their action. The Grounds Committee reported that junior games of the fourth, fifth, sixth and primary schools divisions would take place as usual on Saturday. Shortage of grounds prevented any other junior grades being carried on. A request from the Harbour Board Club to play a match with and entertain a team from the Fleet on May 14 was referred to the Grounds and Selectiou Committee with power to act. The following transfers were granted : — To Ponsonby, OMalley from V.M.C.A. and Wallwork from Harbour Board ; to Londoners. Harper from Tramways. ( A letter was received from the Wellington Football Association giving information requested regarding their scheme for insurance of players. It was referred to the Finance Committee. A delegate from the Referees' Association stated that reports had been circulated that I referees In Auckland were being paid for j their services. His association desired it , Ito he made pul>' ; - that this was not true, and also that all men controlling games paid all their own exposes. FIXTURES FOR SATURDAY.
