FRAUD ALLEGED.

■ ■ ARREST ON THE lONIC. At the Magistrate's Court. Wellington, on Thursday, before Mr. W. G. Riddell, S.M., a farmer named Parlanc Boss Walker was charged that, being the grantor of an instrument by way of security to His Majesty the King" by gelling the chattels affected to defraud the grantee. Chief Detective Kemp said the accused had been arrested on warrant on' the complaint of the Receiver of Land Revenue. The charge was in respect to 35 acres of crop. The chief detective stated that the accused had been arrested on the lonic en route to England, and asked that if bail was applied for it should be substantial. _Mr. W. E. Leicester made an application for bail on behalf of the accused. and it was granted in a bond of £100, or two of £50.
