I I A meeting of the Management Committee of the Auckland Rugby League was held . last evening. Mr. W. J. Hammill presiding. I As the Auckland teams would not be j ready to play matches by Easter Saturday. I the request of the Hamilton League that I a Walkato team play an Auckland thirteen lat Carlaw Park on that date could not be acceded to. | Following a complaint that the surfaces of suburban playing grounds were not satisfactory, the Grounds Committee decided to make an Inspection, Tbe chairman mentioned that Carlaw • Park would not be available for use on Saturday next, but said that arrangements were well In hand for the renovation ot the ground for the opening of the season. An entry of senior teams from the Mangere and Ellerslie Clubs was accepted. This meant that there would be nine teams in the senior competition. The chairman put forward a scheme whereby the nine teams would compete In tbe first round, and the six leading teams the second round. The remaining three teams could have other matches arranged.
