SUICIDE AT PARNELL.
FOIXOWING -DEPRESSION. '•'SOMETHING GOING TO HAPPEN." On Saturday evening, while she was having tea with her parents, Minnie Bertha Arndt, 32 years of age, residing at Earl Street, Parneli, remarked "that something was going to happen." She further stated that she was going to have a bath. At about 730 she was found in her room with her throat cut. Her father's razor was found alongside her. Dr. Kinder was immediately called, but on arrival pronounced life to be extinct. At the inquest held this morning hy Mr. W. E. McKean, S.M., evidence was given that the unfortunate woman had, since childhood, suffered from epileptic fits. Recently she had been taking medicine, and while this considerably reduced the number of epileptic attacks, she suffered from depression. At tea on Saturday evening deceased remarked that she felt that something was going to happen. Shortly afterwards she was found with her throat cut. A verdict was returned that deceased died from shock and loss of blood following a wound in her throat, self inflcted, while in a state of depression.
