NORTHERIf ROAD CHAMPIONSHIP. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) DARGAVIL.LE. Saturday. The North Auckland championship cycle road race from Whangarei to Dargaville took place this afternoon. The road was very muddy after last night's storm. Thirteen competitors started. M. Pcnnyfather finished first, and made fastest time, 2 hours 28 minutes 15 seconds. Cossell was second, his time being 2 hours 30 minutes 23 Beconds, G. Dunn, 2 hours 51 minutes 13 seconds, being third. Davidson, the scratch man, had a breakdown. Cossell had a spill, skinning his arm, but he came on, securing second place. A great crowd collected at the Dargaville Post Offlce to see the finish.
