COAL MINER KILLED.
FATALITY AT ROTOWARO. STRUCK BY RUNAWAY SKID. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) • HAMILTON, tins day. Wllile working at the bottom of a "jig" at the Taupiri Coal Mine Company's Rotorwaro mine yesterday afternoon, a miner named William Maddison, aged 60, sustained injuries that brought about his death in Waikato Hospital at an early hour this morning. From what can be gathered a small "skid" of trucks used in the removal of coal broke away, but whether Maddison was thrown to one elde in attempting to stop the runaways, or was knocked down by them, is not definitely known. He is a married man, and leaves a grown-up family.
