F.L.T.—The Japanese saluted the 1 Flag ' with 21 guns; Fort Cautley (North Head) returned the salute with 21 • guns; HJvl.s. Laburnum saluted the Japanese Vice-Admiral with 15 guns. 1 and the Asama (flagship of the '• squadron) returned the salute with 15 '■ guns. This makes a total of 72 guns, ' which were fired in the order named. - i
