HAMILTON STOCK SALE.
The Farmers' Co-op. Auctioneering Co., Ltd., report:—At Hamilton on Tuesday the supply of sheep was lighter than usual, but the cattle pens were well filled. Pigs also i were well represented. There wus little ■ alteration in the value of sheep. Fat ewes made 19/, fat lambs 23/ C, forward lambs 1 15/6 to 15/9, store lambs 11/ to 12/. Com- ' petition for beef was slightly better, and I the total offering was disposed of. Steers I made from £0 19/ to £S 12/ C; cows. £3 j 12/0 to £4 15/ ; forward cows, £2 15/ to £3 10/. The advertised line of run cows and I heifers from the East Coast drew better \ competition than was anticipated, in view of the dry season. They were mostly of good quality, and as the vendor early showed a disposition to submit to public judgment Jie was fairly generously dealt with. Polled Angus and Hereford made from £2 12/G to £3 7/ ; smaller frame and second quality £1 16/ to £2 5/ ; aged cows. £1 to £1 10/. The vealers not unnaturally had parted I with a little of their bloom on the journey 1 across, and in consequence were not eagerly competed for. The tops made £2 2/ ; other lots sold realised 30/ to 34/. Pigs were . ngain in full supply, and advanced on last weeks rates. Baeoners made from £3 12/0 to £4 C/; light weights, £3 to £:: 10/ ; best %V?to £ f lr,/ ; n " ht Porkers, 37/6 to £2 5/; good slips, 22/ to 27/ • Sreaners 7/ to 13/ C.
