ALLEGED PERJURY.
CHARGE AGAINST LICENSEE. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) LEVIX, Friday. Charges of perjury were preferred in the Magistrate's Court today against! Alfred Waishaw, licensee of the Mana- j kau Hotel, and Frank Capon, prosptcthe licensee. The ease arose out of a recent prosecution in which the former was convicted of selling to six youths on Sunday. Walshaw's evidence was that only ] three youths came to the hotel, and none | was served with liquor, and none was ! introduced to Capon, who wad about to take over tho premises. Capon's cvi- j deuce was that he did not remember the ! youths coming to the hotel, nor was he | introduced to them. Several of the i youths were subsequently convicted of riotous behaviour in Levin and Otaki on tho same night. At to-day's hearing, fiw of them gave evidence to the effect that six of the . party entered the hotel and were served J '.villi* liquor and introduced to Capon in ' a general way. The defence was reserved. j Mr. Page. S.M.. committed Walshaw; for trial, but dismissed the charge i against the other accused. I
