. (Special to "Star.") CHRISTCHURCH, this day. Rome person or persons at New .Brighton apparently made a New Year resolution to raise funds by the simple expedient of robbing a.threepence in the Ik>x telephone. Shortly after 1924 calendars came into operation a thief entered one of these cubicles and I# with a chisel or other tool, prised off the receptacle for money and took it away. The mechanism contained a large sum, as the telephone is very generally used. The thief also paid a visit later tn a chemist's shop, where the doors showed signs of an endeavour being made to I'orce an entrance, but the marauder was unsuccessful.
