STOCK DISEASE AT HOME.
PRAYERS IN CHURCH. LOXDOX, December 30. Sunday has been set apart as a day for special prayer in Chester Cathedral for the relief of farmers from the devastation of foot and mouth disease. The prayer is "O Lord, who didst not despise the companionship of the ox and ass, have pity on our cattle in Cheshire. Turn away the plague that has fallen upon them. Comfort the farmers. Fill again with herds and prosperity the lonely fields that we may rejoice in Thy good- ■ ness." I Sixty-two new cases of foot and mouth disease have been reported, 29 of which j are in Cheshire.— (A. and X.Z. Cable.)
