The New Zealand Tennis Association's tournament was continued to-day, results being as follow:— Men's Singles.—Patterson beat Wilding. 6—], 7—5, 6—2; W. A. Sims beat Andrews, 6—3, 6—l, 3—6, 7—5, 6—4. Men's Doubles.—France and France beat Peac-h and Poulton (N.S.W.), 6—3. "—5, 6—3; Ollivier and Page beat Go=s and Greenwood, 6—l, 6—l. 6—3; Bartleet and Robson (Auck>-ndl beat Re id and Pike (N.S.W.), 6—4, 6—2 3—6, lO—B. Ladie*' Doubles.—The Maefarlane sisters beat the Partridge sisters, 6—4. 6—3. Combined Doubles.—Miss Wellwood and Peac-h beat Mrs. Garbutt and McDougall by default: Mrs. Melody and Wallace beat Miss McLaren and" Guy. 9 —". 6—4; Miss Howe and France beat. Miss Spiers and Borrows, 6—o, 6—3. Girls' Singles.—Miss Nicholls beat Mis 3 Scott, 6—4, 6—l, 6—2: Miss Quill beat Miss East, 5—6, 6—2. 6 3. •COUNTRY WEEK" TOURNEY. ENTRIES DISAPPOINTING. A tennis tournament organised for t» •jenefit of country clubs was commenced on the Stanley Street courts this morning. Th» entries were disappointing, only two "club«. Rodney and Franklin, sending a team. Ir had been expected that at least six coun try clubs would send representatives, and the fact that only two teams put in an appearance is taken by the promoters as an indication that New Tear week is noan appropriate time for the tournament If better support is promised next year the tonrnameiit may be held at Easter. In all but one game played up till the hour of going to press Rodney proved victorious. Results follow, the names of Rodney plaj-ers being given first in each instance :-'- Men's Singles.—Grant beat Stevens, ft-—n, 6—2 : Morrison beat Lee. 6—3. 5—6. 6—3 : Warm beat Waters, 6—l, 6—l; Gravatt beat Bilkey. 6—3, 6—o. Ladies' Singles.—Mrs. Ellis beat Mrs. Bilkey. 9—*: Mrs. Pickering beat Miss Milligan, 9—3 : Mrs. Ellis beat Miss Milligan, 9—2: Mrs. Pickering lost to Mrs. Bilkey. 5 —9. Men's Doubles.—Warm and Gravatt ,beat Waters and Lee. 6—l. ft—3. j Ladies' Doubles. —Mesdames Ellis and j Pickering beat Mrs. Bilkey and Miss Milligan. 9—5.
