—• WAIPA RACING CLUB. THE ANNUAL MEETING. (By Tei?graph.—Special to "Star.") TE AWAMUTU, Saturday. The Waipa Racing Club's annual meeting was held here to-day in fine though windy weather. The course was in good order. ,md there was a large attendance. Tinokaha Wins the Cup. Ngata was scratched for the Te Awamutu Cup, leaving a field of a dozen. Te Kara was lirst fancy with Boomerday, Tinokaha, Muraahi and Stork fancied in that order. Tinokaha, Mastor Rohan, Musketoon and Boomerday were quickest to move, but going past the stand Boomerday was second to Tinokaha. wi.th Musketoon. Gold Plane, (ilen Canny and Master Rohan follow ing as named. Along the back the order was the same, except that Tinokaha had increased his advantage from Boomerday, who was followed by Gold Plane and Musketoon. Tinokaha was lirst into the straight, and. stalling of! Boomerday. won by a length aud threequarters, with Musketoon a length and n-half away third. Then came Glen Canny, Gold Plane, Stork. Master Rohan and Te Kuril, with Marble Bell last. The Flying Handicap. Arran. who started earlier in the day, was the only defection from the Flying Handicap. Finelli was made a £100 better favourite than Hipo. with King Quin, Tama-a-roa and Golden Bubble backed in that order. When they were let go Finelli hopped out quickly, but was soon joined by York Abbey, with Hipo, Golden Bubble and Tama-a-roa next. Finelli and York Abbey led Golden Bubble and Hipo across the top, with King Quin and Tama-a-roa last. Finelli entered the straight just ahead of York Abbey and Hipo, but the latter soon had Finelli settled. Golden Bubble and Tama-a-roa then came through, but Hipo held his own and beat Golden Bubble by a neck, with Tama-a-roa thrcequarters of a length further back. Finelli was fourth, with York Abbey and King Quin last. Gold Jacket Wins. Black Cruiser was the popular selection for the Paterangi Welter Handicap, and carried about £300 more than Velociform, with Gold Bud, Take Take. Sycorax and Regent the next best supported. Velociform and Gold Bud were in front from Sycorax. The latter ran to the front along the back with Regent, Velociform, Starland and Black . Cruiser next. Across the top Sycorax was still in charge, but entering the straight the colours of Regent. Yelociform, Take Take and Hold Jacket were noticed handy. Gold Jacket drew to the front entering the straight, and going on he won by a neck from Velociform, who beat Take Take by half a length. Regent was fourth and then came Bitholia, Mia Bella, Gold Bud, Sycorax and Starland. Good Second Dividend. White Comet was the public fancy for the Orakau Handicap, with Brigadier Bill, Peter Rosa, Uncle Jack and Irene Bruce next fancied. After Major Abbey had led:to the straight White Comet, Te Kuri and Irene Bruce came through, the first-named winning by a length. Te Kuri beat Irene Bruce by a similar distance. Finnote was next" Te Kuri returned a double-figure dividend for second. Lady Biddy fell, and L. Dulieu. her rider, received a shaking. The stewards held an inqui/y and found thatflhe occurrence was purely accidental. The Programme Concl'ldes. Seven contested the Ohaupo Handicap, with which the programme concluded. Ngata was favourite, Sir Burnett, Some Fashion and Tarleton being fancied as named. Ngata and Bute Sound were quickest to begin, but Tarleton ran to the front and led from Some Fashion. Infante and Ngata. Tarletin was first into the straight, but half way. do\vn Sir Burneit, Some Fashion and Ngata came at him, a great race ending in Sir Burnett beating Some Fashion by half a, head, -with Ngata a neck away. Tarleton 'Was fourth, and then came Arizona Maid, nml Bute Sound. The Totalisator. The amount invested on the totalisator was £25,926, against £17,949 last year, an increase of £7977.
