THE WEATHER.
, SULTRY- AND OPPRESSIVE CONDITIONS. The weather throughout the morning was sultry and oppressive and the conditions portended rain. The sky was dull and threatening but till midday only traces of very light rain had been experienced. A 9 o'clock this morning the barometer had fallen to 30.113 in, a light breeze continuing from the west. Xirie and three-quarter hours of bright sunshine were registered yesterday by the Government weather observer, Captain A. Davies, at the Albert Park Observatory. Qnly .12 inches of rain have been registered for the month to date. Of this amount, a fall of .10 inches -was recorded for the "24 hours ended 9 o'clock Thursday morning.
