CHRISTMAS APPEALS.

Sir, —On fcehalf of the missioner and voluntary helpers, ■ representing the British and Foreign Sailors , Society in Auckland, permit mc to again ap--1 peal to friends- to • aid •in providing suitable entertainment for oversea? sailors in port during the holiday season. It is customary to supply tea on Sunday evening (but thanks. to many kind friends extra dainties have never been wanting at tbe festive season. Captain Bazeley is in attendance every forenoon at the Sailors' Home Mission Hall, lower Albert Street, and. will be delighted to receive contributions ot cake, fruit, etc., or means to procure supplies, or on receipt of intimation will call at any address and collect same. —I am etc., W.
