CHAMBER OF COMMERCE. (Bj Telegxapß.—Own Corresponaent.i DARGAVILLE, this day. At a meeting of the Kaipara Chamber of Commerce last night, Mr. W. J. Kobertson presiding, a letter was received from the Public Works Department stating that the question of transferring the paying-out office of Pukeliuia railway employees from Whangarei to Dargaville would be considered.'
The Whangarei District Shaw Court Committee wrote that they would hold their own court at the Auckland A. and P. Winter Show, and would not join the proposed combined Xorth Auckland Court. It was decided to arrange for a Northern Wairoa Court and a public meeting will be called for t, ? purpose. The Hon. J. G. Coates wrote that he would consider erecting a traffic bridge at Omana.
Mr. F. A. Jones reported on a meeting held re a Hobson county branch of the Xorth Auckland Progress League. He stated that the Mayor was calling a public meeting and expected to secure 1000 members in Xorthern Wairoa. They should try to get the Government to send a man from North Auckland to the Empire Exhibition to advertise the North. It was decided to ask the Hon. •T. G. Coates to keep in touch with the Chamber in the matter of removing the Helensville railway station. It was pointed out that the station was far enough away from the wiiarf already, and would be dangerous to women and children at night if it were shifted further. Plunket Nurses' Day. Plunket Xurses' Day was held on Saturday, and over £60 was collected in the street.
