ISid, _2Jd. and 23Jd, there being a fair number of passings in this range, but the limit was reached when a lot was passed at 2S"d. Most of the remainder was passed without being put up. There were some very fine superMerinos from the well-known clip of Mr. < harle_ Coulter, ihe well-known stud Merino breeder, of Marlborough, and ot her good wools came from Blenheim, Wairarapa, and Keilding. There was a full bench of buyers, representing- Bradford. Prance. Germany, Italy, Japan, the United states, and the local mills. From the outset bidding was lively, competition being keen and spirited throughout the evening, nearly every section of buyers operating. Prices ruled slightly in buyers' favour, taking quality into consideration. Present indications do not show a marked advance. After the tirst catalogue, the passings were few. the first being due to what were regarded as unduly high reserves. hi the second catalogue 27d was the best price recorded, this being for Corriedale. Crossbreds are fully firm at slightly better than November prices. Tlie sale will continue to-morow. The total catalogues comprises 27,000 bales.
