GAINS AND IX>SS__. MANY GOVEINHENT REVERSES (Received 3 p.m.) LOXDON, December 7. The Duchess Atholl (Conservative) gained Kinross seat, defeating Mr. Molteno (Liberal) by a majority of GO. Lady Terrington's majority in the triangular contest at High Wycombe was 1682. Earl Winterton was re-elected for Horshaw. Mr.Lloyd George's majority was 5177. Mr. T. Hodges defeated two Liberals. The Labourite, Colonel Beauehamp Williams, gained the Kennington division of Lambeth in the three-cornered fight. Colonel Amery's return by an increased majority in the Sparkbrook division made Birmingham solidly pro-Government; but Mt. Neville Chamberlain's majority in the Lady Wood division is reduce dto 1554. Mr. Baldwin's majority in Bewnley increased to 6309. The 11 women defeated yesterday included the Labourite, Miss .Tc3sie Stephen, by the Conservative, Major Cayzcr (brother of Lady Jellicoei, in Portsmouth South. To-day's declarations opened sensation- ! ally, fh-e Liberal gain in Basingstoke (Hampshire) Avas shortly followed by tho announcement that Miss Bondfield had gained Northampton. •Sir W. G. Or_sbv Gore (lender Secretary of the Colonies) was re-elected in Stafford. The canturc of Brid»ewater from Sir Robert Sanders by W. K. "Morae (Liberal), with a majorttv of 1431. brought the climax to a number of Government reverses in the agricultural districts, where th-> Government hoped to have been strongest.
