CONDUCT OF HOTELS.
- SUNDAY TRADING IN CHRISTCHURCH. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, this day. At the quarterly meeting of the Christchurch Licensing Committee the chairman (Mr. Widdowson, S.M.) referred to convictions which had been obtained against certain hotels. The committee hoped that the police would take the matter of Sunday trading actively. m hand, and see that every breach of the Licensing Act was taken notice of. and, if necessary, brought before the Court. Not only was it necessary for hotelkeepers to observe the law so far as they were concerned, but non-observ-ance of the law was grossly unfair to those hotelkeepers who did observe it. It was hoped that there would be a better report placed before the next meeting of the committee.
