Sir.—The Salvation Array- .is once again undertaking to provide C'hristmaoheer in a common-sense method to a large number of ' needy people—men. women, and children —in Auckland. Last year, in many ways, we were able t<> make' burdens lighter, aril b-i'u? sunshine and che*r to many. Hundreds of Christmas parcels were .'distributed by Adjutant Gordon and her. assistant.-. At a safe estimate six hundred persons were helped 'through' the paroej sehurne. Tinin only possible -by t'.:e continuation nf the generous support so readily i'ive:i jus from time to time. Material help lias been riven out i" Adjutant Gordon's Samaritan department alone to.over a thousand person* during tlie la«t six months, and visits to gaol, ""Police Court and homes are mucii more numerous.
