A neighbours' dispute ventilated in the Police Court to-day led to the Magistrate being asked a question something in this form. Yes, a witness admitted, he had stepped over the fence on to the roadway to have "an up-and-down" with the man who dared him. But his wife had lost her temper, and said to him: "Alf, if you don't hit him, I will." "So what was. a man to do, your Worship?" The Magistrate joined in the laugh which followed, but he was quite unable to answer the question. Rifleman W.
