(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WHANGAREI, this day.

\ poll was taken at Kamo yesterday on" a proposal to raise a loan of £3000 to erect a town hall, including a public library, at the Town Board office, on the main road. The proposal was defeated by one vote in a heavy poll, 106 ratepayers voting out of 146 on the roll. The result was: Against 53, for 52; informal, 1. It will be recollected that the old Kamo Hall and Town Board office was destroyed by fire some months ago.
