The Stokes divorce case has ended in favour of Mrs. Stokes. Both sides have incurred lavish expenditure. Mrs. Stokes was able to convince the jury that the red-chaired woman seen in the apart moms of h. r men fripnds was not herself, but :; double. — (A. and N.Z.) Mr. W. E. Stokes, a famous hotel magnate, asred 72. sought a divorce from his handsome red-haired wife, aged 37, [presumably with the object of pre enting her participation in his estates. Excitement was caused in Court when Mrs. Stokes' "double"' (with equally Titian locks) admitted it was she and not defendant who had kept many assignations which the prosecution alleged against the co-respondents. .
