"11/ fOUNT ROSKILL ROAD BOARI SPECIAL ORDER MAKING BY-LAW Notice is hereby given that at Special Meeting of the Mount Roskill Ron Board held on the 20th day of Septembc 1923. the following resolution was passr and was duly confirmed nt the Ordlnni Meeting of the Board, held on the 6th da of November, 11123 :— That the Mount Roskill Road Boar make By-laws under The Road Boarc Act, 10US. The Public Health Act, 100; The Public Works Act, 11)08. The Mott Regulations Act IPOS, and their seven Amendments, and all other powers there to enabling It to repeal the By-laws a present in force, and in lieu thereof t make the following By-laws, the object an purport of which are as follows:— BUILDINGS, (a) Definition of Building Site Area. (h) Requiring notice to be given an plans aud specifications to be <1< posited with the Board of an proposed building or of any altei ations or additions to an exlstiu building, and requiring a permit t » be obtained of any such work befor it is commenced. (c) Prohibiting the erection of any dwel iug house upon any site which doe not comply with the conditions o such By-law in that behalf. (d) Prescribing the air space to b allowed for building. (el Prescribing the materials to be usd in the construction of buildings an the method of constructing generally and prohibiting the use of certali materials. (f) Prescribing a scale of fees payabl for a permit in respect of any build ing or additions or alterations to i building. (g) Prescribing the conditions undo which stables may be erected am used in the district. (h) Prescribing the conditions requiree in the provisions of earth closets anc of chimneys and all other require nients. _ARE AND MANAGEMENT OF ALL THI ROADS IN TIIE DISTRICT, (i) Prohibiting riding on footpath, cattle wandering, offensive droppings anc drainage, rubbish deposits, burnin; litter, etc. Dropping of leaves, over banging trees, regulation of bicycles motor cars, etc Crossings and drain* on footpaths, carting over footpaths dedication of roads, etc. SANITARY. (1) Providing for the licensing of com petent plumbers and of the work tc be executed, together with tb< responsibility of plumbers, etc. DRAINAGE BY-LAWS. (m) Providing for notices required, the provision of inspectors, sale of bylaws, issuing of licenses, stipulating fees therefor, drainage of property, application for connection, maintenance, sewer connection, ventilating pipes, and all other matters In connection with drainage. MOTOR CAR BY-LAWS. (n) Prescribing the speed limit on various roads, together with othei matters in connection thereto. HEAVY TRAFFIC. (o) Prescribing regulations of the cartage of gravel, stone, or scoria along any of tbe roads in the district. (p) Prescribing penalties for any breach in connection with these by-laws. A Copy of the Special Order and By-laws i deposited at tbe Office of the Board, Mt. dbert Road, and the same will be open for üblic inspection during office hours.
