UTS HOMESTEAD BURKED. (By Telejrrapu.—Special to "Star.") WIIANGAREI, this day. A four-roomed dwelling, owned and occupied by Mr. E. V. C!lover, at Kiripaka, was totally destroyed by fire, with all contents, late last night, after the family had retired for the night. The outbreak occurred in. the kitchen and spread rapidly, the. occupants barely having time to make their exit. Some difficulty was experienced in rescuing a child j who slept in a room adjacent to the kitchen. It is understood the place is covered by insurance in the State Fire Office, but Mr. Glover, who is a returned soldier ' settler, will be a heavy loser.
