The Otahuhu Sailing Club, which has been recently reformed, intends to open the season by holding a yacht race on the Tamaki Kiver on Saturday, November 17, at 2 p.m. To add to the afternoon's amusement a canoe race will also be decided. Great interest is being manifested in the club's activities, which were held in abeyance during the war period. It is anticipated that nine boats will participate in the yacht race, and, given favourable weather conditions, a pleasant afternoon's sport should ensue. The Tamaki River lends itself particularly well for yacht racing, which can be clearly viewed from the banks of the river. The club now has a large membership, who are all working diligently for a successful season, and who are assured of active support from the various cruising clubs of Auckland.
