SEAMEN'S DISPUTE.
AUSTRALIAN RATES OF FAIT. MINIMUM OF THE UNION. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Thursday. The debate was continued to-day before the Conciliation Commissioner upon the claims and counter claims in the seamen's dispute. The principal question discussed was wages.
Mr. Young said that the union was prepared to accept anything less than the Australian rates at the present time. He referred to a statement made on the previous day that the employer? wanted a reduction on the present wage, and said he could not see how a settlement could be' readied. An adjournment was made to enable the assessors to consult the shipping companies.
