During a melodrama at n Naples thpaire a man appeared in the wings and threatened to beat the leading lady unless sho relumed to live with him. The audience was unaware that the man " as the husband of the actress, and loudly applauded the realism of the acting. Even when the man brat tlie woman with a stick the audience did not guess. Finally members of the company rushed to the rescue. The leading lady was taken to the hospital, and the husband gaoled.— (A. and N.Z. Cable.)
