NEW ZEALAND DEVELOPMENT.
"MOST DESIRABLE CUSTOMER.
MR. MASSEY'S SUGGESTION. ! (Received 1.30 p.m.) LONDON, October 4. Speaking at the Chamber of Commerce dinner at the Mansion House, Mr. W F. Maseey traced New Zealand's development. He always regarded Britain as a most desirable customer, giving her all-round preference, and where possible to do business with Britain, no other country has a look in. New Zealand is willing to go further-—as far as oppor- i tunity offers, "f believe we can be just ' as patriotic in trade and commerce as in any other way." said Mr. Massey. ' "Trade conditions in England are far j from satisfactory. We must look round I for a remedy. T hope the Conference ' will achieve something in this direction. • The Empire can be made self-supporting. Why should we not do it? Goods should be marked either 'Foreign' or 'Within ' the Empire.' This is a little thing to ask. and there should be no difficulty in granting the request.' - —(A. and N.Z.) |
