The golf tournament for the New Zea- . lanel ladies' championship was continued this morning in line weather. The semifinals of the championship resulted :—Miss Watson bent Mlss Acheson, ;! and 2; Miss Visor Brown heat Miss Beadcl. 2 and 1. The resnli leaves Miss Visor P.rown (Napier) and Miss Watson (Palmersten .North! to fighl out the finish over ;IG holes to-morrow. The- outstanding feature of the meet Ihe of Misses Brown anil Beadcl was the ma;ntficent driving, especially of the firstnanied. Miss Beadcl was slightly better at approaching and also on the greens. Miss I Brown lost two or three holes by Indifferent putting, being one up at the turn. Five holes were halved, but the rnrds show nothing outstanding. Miss Brown did the ! nrst half in 4G (bogey o7) and Miss Bead el \\n 4S. I In the other semi-final. Miss Acheson drove the longer ball, but Miss Watson was superior in the short game. The pnt- ! ting was indifferent. Both tool; 40 in the tirst half, and the seven holey in the second hall' cost MiSs Acheson :>!) ami Miss Watson 35. Miss flrn.v (Nelson! won the plav-olr for the Ilc.iinelly Cup. and also woo the Kcceenel division prize. Mrs. Ore-en (Nelson I won that in the lirst division. The second hng.-v handicap was won by Miss Beadcl (Christchnrch), 2 down. She also won the ltattra.v Cup for the best aggregate hi the two hogey matches. Miss Cray won the prize in the second division. '1 down.
