INSTITUTE OF SURVEYORS.
ELECTION OF CILAIKMAX. The initial meeting of the local branch of the New Zealand Institute of Surveyors was held on Monday evening and | was well attended. By a" resolution <f the Council, branches of the Institute have been formed throughout the Dominion in lieu of the former system id" local committees. It was anticipated that this change made would be of great advantage to the profession. Mr. C. K. Cirierson was elected chairman. Several mutters of importance were introduced and discussed, more particularly a proposed town planning bill, which is to be brought under the notice |c,f the Government. D was decided to hold the future monthly meetings of the branch at the I same place as the local committee had | previously met, and at tlie same time.
