THE WAIHI DISPUTE. (By Telecraph. —Own Correspondent.) WAIHI, this day. Following a meeting of the Waihi Fire Brigade last evening, at which strong resentment was shown in respect of remarks made by the Auckland members of the Waihi Fire Board at its recent quarterly meeting, the chairman (Mr. Wm. Wallnutt) has tabled notice of motion to rescind a resolution in regard to the putting out of four telephones from residences of firemen, and that the alarm system be dispensed with and a telephone established at the East Kud. In view of the threatened resignation of the brigade and probable serious effects the chairman deems such action necessary. In tbe meantime he has iii-truct«! the secretary of the board not to move in the direction of hming the telephones removed.
