MOUNT EDEN COUNCIL.
iTo the Editor.) Sir,—lt is regrettable that the Mt. Eden Councillors who resigned their seats should decide to contest the election only on condition that other Councillors resigned. Everyone has the right to his own opinion in this matter, but it is the vote of the ratepayers that decides the issue, for no party can afford- to flout the wish that the election will reveal. In fairness to electors it is to be hoped that ex-Councillors will reconsider their decision before noon on the 13th instant.—l am, etc., HAROLD SCHMIDT. 11/0/23.
