After a night's heavy rain and gale the Coif Tournament was continued this morning in fine weather, but with a strong northerly wind. Results at the third round of the championship are as follow :— Miss Bell, a byp: MiBS Acheson beat Mrs. Lawrence. 7 and 0; Mrs. Humphrey heat Miss Marchbanks, 5 and 4: Miss Cracroft Wilson bent Mrs. Cock. 5 and 4 : Miss Vigor Brown beat Mrs. Mowbray 3 and 1; Mrs. Spiers heat Mrs. Slack, 3 and 2; Miss Beadle Christchurch) beat Mlsr Dixon Christchurch), 1 up on the .twenty-first grpen. Miss Watson (Palmerston North) beat Miss Cooper (Auckland!, one up. The breaking of a life-guard on car No. 25 at the corner of vSymonds and l Wellesley -Streets at 8.40 o'clock this i morning was responsible for a slight holdup of the service. In just two ' minutes tlie broken guard was attended to, but in that short space of time no less than ten tramcars were lined up in Symonds Street, while numbers of pasj sengers, fearing a long delay, left the I cars and walked the remainder of their journey, i --..- _ .. — ,
