Go over Border Carnations and clean off rusty foliage. jk i-i Keep spent flowers cut off winter Sweet Peas, and carefully train the Sweet Peas which are coming on. %, ii Manure Rose beds after pruning. J£ Jjj Hoe between Bulbs and the surface of beds and borders. F jj THE LAWN. p This is a good time to weed the lawn. j*r M Give a top dressing of about an inch of finely sifted soil after i^ 4 weeding. § 4] Keep the edges of the lawn neatly trimmed. tu S<| A good rolling should be given occasionally whilst the ground is fe f moist. U THE VEGETABLE GARDEN. f Plant Potatoes in a well drained, skeltered position. '°A. -i Plant Rhubarb as soon as possible. jk Vj Cabbages and Cauliflowers should be planted. rj Dig any vacant weedy plots. ?'; "Jj Prepare ground for Parsnips and other tap rooted crops. &■' % Sow Lettuce and Radish. Choose a rich, light (oil if possible. ■§:] An early sowing of Beetroot and Carrots can be made. ''$- Sow a few Tomatoes under glass. 'if--4i Box Potatoes prior to planting. j^. I THE FRUIT GARDEN. | ij Push on all planting with as much speed as possible. y~ The ground and weather is now in good condition for planting. <f % Pruning should be done at the earliest possible moment. Rf Gather and burn all prunings. |fe ijj Spray as soon as pruning is done. $; Dig over the surface soil after the pruning and spraying is done. !_, Do not dig close up to the stems of Citrus trees only use the hoe. j^ ~2 Plant Citrus trees about the end of the month. il.
