DIAMOND JUBILEE. MEMORIAL TO WAR HEROES. (By Telegraph.—Prew Association.) DUNEDIN, Friday. The diamond jubilee celebrations of he Otago Boys' High School, which are o last until next Tuesday evening, jpened this afternon in fine weather. Many old boys from different parts of :!ie Dominion are attending. The beautiful memorial archway confining the names of 188 old boy's who ?ave their lrves in the Great War, was iedicated by Sir Francis Bell, the first iux of the school. He asked that in future all past and present boys observe the custom of 'honouring the archway by I passing with bared heade. ] In the absence of the rector, Mr. W. f ■T. Morrell. who was indisposed, Mr. F. j J. Campbell accepted the memorial on j behalf of the echool. Those present j afterwards inspected the tablets inside i the school, where the names of 1200 j ex-pupils who served in the war are ! recorded. ; In the evening a smoke concert was i held, old boys being present from all over ' N T ew Zealand, including the Hon. T. W. ! Hislop (Wellington), Sir Alfred Robin, Archdeacon Haggitt (Christchurch), Dr. P. A. Lindsay (Auckland), Messrs. C. Branigan (Ashburton), R. W. Brown (Christihuroh). H. W. Hay (Timaru), T. Muir (Invcruargill), W. F. Marsh (Napier), D. E. Hutton (Christ<-hurch).
