.VICTIM'S JAW FRACTUBEI), S The hearing of a charge of assault if proceeding in the Police Court this afternoon, Alfred Brophy (24) being th« accused. Evidence was given this morning "by» Frederick Bennett, who said he meft accused when emerging from a shop, and Brophy struck him with his clenched fist. When witness attempted to rise accused said, "Don't get up or ITT knock you into eternity!" Witness felt too to get up. Dr. Begg gave evidence as to the elate of Bennett's jaw when an examination was ■ made. It was fractured in twaf places. ■ Mr. Schramm, who represented accused, questioned Bennett as to his relation* with Brophy. Bennett denied - having provoked accused in any -war. He. had, "never had a row with him."
