Sales or Union Bank or Australia were ag-ain recorued at £15. There was an improvement this week in shares in insurance companies. New Zealand changed hands at 30/, and South British buyers advanced their olTers to 39/3 without sales resulting-. New Zealand inscribed stock, 1038, were placed ai £u7, and bonds sold at ttie same vate. New Zealand Loan and Mercantile ordinary stocks v had transactions at £su, and Auckland Gas 5 per cent debentures sold at £U1 10/. In miscellaneous stocks a fair amount or business was transacted during mc week. Goldsborough Blort, Ltd. sold at 49/, and 12 guineas were offered lor Daigety, Ltd. Sales or Parker Lamb Timber occurred at i! 5/3, and or Kauri Timber at 2u/. Wilton's Cement sola at 2//6 and 27/9, but eased towards the end of the week, holders being willing ■to accept i' 7/3. Hill and I'luinmer, Ltd. were placed at 22/3, and buyers or Phillipps and Impey, Ltd., advanced their oilers to 27/ witiiout sellers quoting. Taupiri Coal changed hands at IU/6, and lor" prererence Hikurangi snares buyers advanced their oilers to 15/. Steady demand continues for Auckland Gas shares. The old issue sold up to 26/«, and buyers still olTer that llgure, wnne for the new 31/6 is quoted by buyers. A little inquiry took place lor Kalapol Woollen shares, ordinary slock selling at 23/3, and the 10/ paid at 11/9. A transaction took place in New Zealand and River Plate shares this week at 23/, and several sales took place of Aortnern Steam, paid Issue, at 15/. Devonport Ferry sold yesterday afternoon at 20/0, and lor Bycroit, LUi. shares 22/3 was tne price paid earlier in the week. Sales took place of Burns, Phllp, Ltd., at 33/, and tiiu same iifure was offered for Donag-ny's nope ana Twine. For Tonson, Garncii., Ltd. v/ vi 3 and buyers or Takapuna Tram and lerry offered up to 20/io. An advance or 1/ took place in the uuying rate for urey and Meiizies ordinary shares, U/ being offered. Waiht shares bad the usual drop to 25/, arter which saies were made at the noon call yesterday up to 20/3, but by the third call saies took place at 25/3 again.
