TIME OF HER LIFE.
TILL HER MONEY RAN OUT.
FAILURE IN THE LAST ACT.
(Received 11.30 a.m.) LONDON, June 21. A year ago Winifred Neal, a Canadian nurse, found that her earthly possessions totalled £1200. She determined to the money seeing the world, and had the time of her life for twelve months until only ten shillings remained. To-day, aboard the steamer Biarritz, she jumped into the -water when the vessel was steaming at twenty knots.
The ship was put about, a boat was lowered, and Miss Neal was saved. She was charged with attempted suicide, and remanded pending the doctor's inquiries. (A. and N.Z. Cable.)
