MRS. H. T. GARRATT. The Ancient Order of Foresters owes much to her personal connection with the work in the days when Mr. Garratt was district secretary, and she was the first Chief Ranger of the. Ladies' Court Chisman (later called "Maid Marion") constituted on June 25, ISO 4. Many who knew her but casually will remember her personal charm enhanced by her white Victorian curls, but, those who knew her more intimately loved her for her true nobility of womanhood, her unfailing hospitality, fidelity to Christian principle, cheerfulness in adversity and keen interest in affairs in general, all of which characteristics were retained to the day of her death. Of her family of thirteen she is survived by four sons and two daughters, Messrs. John S., Henry T., and Charles F. Garratt, of Auckland, Kershaw B. Garratt, of Melbourne. Jliss Lillie S. j Garratt. and Mrs. Will Saunders, of! Auckland.
