MT. ROSKILL ROAD BOARD.
A meetins ot the above Board was heW last evening. Present: Messrs. <J. K. Tansley (ehairmani, E. J. Herd, J. H. Cooper. E. Brewer. H. Luke, S. Scarborough, J. J. Preston. Boundary Road.—The board will inform a commission apportioned the parts of Boundary Road to be maintained by Mount Eden and Mount Rosklll. Both parties have hecu working under that agreement ever since. With regard to the application of Mount Eden Borough Council to the Public Works Department for a commission to decide a similar question relating to Landscape Road, an agreement exists now between the Borough Council and the Road Board, and is working to the satisfaction of the Board. Building Permits.—Ten building pormlts were issued of the total value of £Bil7. i Sanitary Service. —Mr. E. Patterson offered to negotiate with the board for a eniiitary service In the Mount KosklU <11 5 - ---tri.t. Received. Had T-oadß.— Two deputations waited on the board with regard to the naJ state ot snmc roads in the district. After Hearing them, it was decided that the Works Committee should inspect the roada to see what eau be done to repair thorn. During the cllsrjßSion the chairman remarked that It •would cost hundreds of pounds to repair the damage clonu to the roads in the district l>.v the recent heavy rains. Tower House—Messrs. Hirst and White waited on the board to ask for the use of the power house for mission services to be conducted by St. Andrew's Anjlican machinery In the building, and when this has been removed the board will inform the deputation with a view to opening up Arbitrator.-The One Tree HIU Road •Board will ajzree to the appointment of Mr. Watklus, engineer to the Auckland and Suburban Drainage Board, as arbitrator in the case of any dilute arising in connection with the joli* drainage scheme between the two boards. Weights and Measures.—The administration ot the Weights and Measures Act is now vested in the Department of Labour, and a suggestion has been made that, for the protection of the public, local authorities who issue hawkere' licenses should be approached to ascertain whether the issue of such licenses could be made subject to the applicant producing a certificate from the inspector of weights and measures that bis scales and weights are correct and suitable for nse. painting the Board's office and outbuildings -G.
