QUESTION OF CONTROL. CONFERENCE NEXT MONTH. At a conference in Wellington on July 17th next the Department's proposal that Pukeora and Otaki Sanatoria be controlled jointly by the North Island boards, will be discussed. At its meeting last night the Auckland Hospital Board received a letter from the Direc-tor-General of Health inviting it to send a delegate to the conference. The secretary reported that the chjvirmarf had telegraphed to Wellington asking permission to send three delegates from Auckland but no reply had been received. The Director-General's letter had pointed, out the financial position of jjthe two sanatoria. It showed that the expenditure at the Otaki Sanatoria for the year ended March 31 was f 8824 anil receipts £4828. During the same period the expenditure at Pukeora was £34,485, and receipts £28,513. 4
