CROSS COUNTRY RUNNING.
TEAM. FOR AUSTRALIA. (By Telegraph. —Press Association.) WELLINGTON. Tuesday. At a. meeting of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association, held to-night, it was decided to hold the New Zealand cross-country championship meeting in Canterbury on August 4. Mr. lleonan moved, "That a team comprising seven selected men should be sent to compete in the Australasian cross-country championship, and that the council give £50 toward expenses."' The council was unanimous on the question of -ending a team, but the amount of subsidy caused some discussion. The matter was deferred. Regarding the selection of a team, it was thought that other centres should have a voice in the matter, and it was decided to write to the Canterbury, Otaco, ami Wellington centres asking them to nominate a selector.
