OTAHUHU ORPHANS' CLUB.
Tbe official opening of this club was held at the Public Hall last night, the president. Bro. tieo. V. Pearce, being installed by President Bro. 11. J. Davies. of the Onehunga Orphans' Club, assisted by President Bro. Maxwell Walker, of the Auckland Orphans' Club, and President Bro. Ward, of the I'ukekohe Orphans' Club. Bro. Davis, on behalf of the Onehunga Orphans, presented the president's collar, with the new club's monogram in solid gold. Bro. Maxwell Walker, on behalf of the Auckland Orphans, presented a handsome silvermounted gavel, suitably inscribed. Bro. Ward, on behalf of the I'ukekohe Club, presented a banner, with tlie club's motto. The whole of the evening's programme, which was enthusiastically received, was presented by the Onehun-ra Orphans. During the evening Bro. Ma~iwell Walker invested Bro. Pearce with the president's collar of the Auckland Orphans' Club, a collar now 30 years old, with an endless chain of past presidents' names. In bis address to the brethren. Bro. Pearce mentioned that the club was now nearly 150 strung, and a further eight names had beta handed in that night for membership.
