FRUIT AND PRODUCE.
APPLE MARKET DULL. The fruit market was very dull today as far as apples were concerned, the offering comprising a large quantity of inferior quality. Delicious brought from 9/ to 10/6 a case, Dougherty, choice, 6/6 to "/, small (hard to quit) 3/ to 4/, Stunners, choice, 7/ to 8/, Munro's 5/ to 6/, Ballarat 6/ to 7/. In pears Coles made from 0/ to 11/, and Vicars 6/ to 7/. Local passion fruit brought front 10/ to 13/ a case, and .Sydney 16/ to 17/. Mandarins, ex-Uli-maroa, made from 16/ to 21/, pines 17/ to £1, Sydney grapes 20/ to 21/ for choice, hothouse 2/ to 2/9, poorman oranges 6/ to 9/, according to quality, and tree tomatoes 4/ to 5/6. Persimmons are about finished. Vesetables. — Potatoes, southern whites, 12/6 to 13/ cwt, reds, 11/6 to 12/; onions, 8/ to 12/; kumaras, l|d to 2d lb: swedes, 4/ to 4/6; pumpkins, market glutted and hard to quit; celery, 1/ to 3/ a bundle; cauliflower, 2d to 1/4 each: cabbage, 1/ to 12/ dozen; beans, 2Jd to 3Jd lb; carrots, parsnips and beet, Sd to 1/ dozen; lettuce, 1/ a case to as high as 2/ per dozen; vegetable marrows, no sale. Poultry.—Heavy cockerels, 4/ to 6/3, light 2/9 to 3/9; heavy hens, 2/9 to 3/9, light 2/ to 2/9; roosters, 2/ to 3/9; ducks, 3/6 to 4/6; drakes, 3/ to 4/3; geese, 6/3 to 7/0; turkey gobblers 12/ to 17/6, hens 6/ to 8/6. Farm Produce.—Eggs were in fair supply. Hen eggs made from 2/3 to 2/5, pullet 1/11 to 2/2, duck 2/oid to 2/2*. Farmers' butter brought "from 1/4 to 1/7. with an average of approximately 1/5.
