NORTHCOTE DRAINAGE.
REPORT BY THE ENGINEER. The engineer for the Northcote sewerage scheme, Mr. F. E. Powell, under .j date May 14, applied to the Borough I Council for a progress payment of £281 15/ on account of the sewerage scheme. jHe intimated that practically all the I essential field work was done, leaving one or two special lines which required ' retrial. A great deal of the drawing \ office work had been done, leaving a 1 comparatively small amount before he was ready to invite tenders. Every- ' thing, he' added, now appeared to be " straightforward, with no untoward difficulty in sight. The proposed outfall I line to Northcote Point had been pegged, and a plan was being prepared for submission to the Harbour Board: it seemed probable that this part of the work would also prese.it no unusual difficulty. | The council resolved, on the motion iof Mr. William Kinley, seconded by Mr. 1. B. lavaye requested the opportunity of guiding the drainage surveyors through her property in order to safeguard the many valuable seedlings planted therein. ft was agreed that the engineer should be apprised of these requests. The Ma\or was empowered to arrange with Mr. Powell. C.E.. to explain the"drainage to the new council.
