It is probable that Mr. Stanley Baldwin Will retain charge of the Exchequer until his Bulget is disposed of, after which it is hoped Sir Robert Home will reconsider a definite offer made to him to become Chancellor. The Prime Minister (Mr. Stanley Baldwin), in a message to Mrs. Phillipson (Conservative candidate for Berwick) says: "It is clearly my duty to carry out i the sound and wise policy laid down at i the general election by Mr. Bonar Law. • That policy was confirmed by the coun- • try's verdict. Your return will encourage ( mc to go forward with my task."—(A. I and N.Z. Cable.)
