SCHEDULE OF WORK. At a recent meeting of the OtaJiunu Borough Council, the Mayor,' Mr. R. B. Todd. outlined a general scheme ior development works in the borough, comprising loading, lighting, sewerage, and , drainage, and providing of equipment , lor the council , ! quarry. He submitted tentative proposals which were favour- . ably received by the council, and it was , resolved that further consideration of r the matter be referred to a joint com- ■ !" lttce of the Ugal and Finance and . \\ ater and Drainage Committees. At the council meeting held on Thurs- . day night, the committee furnished its . report, which will provide something tangible and comprehensive for the en- , gineer on which to base his estimates. f The schedule of works included in the , proposals comprise the followiii":—(1) That the quarry be equipped in accordt ance with the council's requirements, at .an estimated cost of £2000. Total £29,200 The acheme provides for bitumen sealng the roads, but during diseuesion it was resolved to obtain alternate estimates for carrying out the work in other permanent materials, including concrete.
